DHL, OPEN HARBOR IN AGREEMENT FOR CUSTOMS CLEARANCE SERVICE
DHL Worldwide Express and Open Harbor Inc. have entered a contract to deploy a Web-based, global customs clearance solution.
When it is fully implemented, DHL’s Worldwide Clearance System, powered by Open Harbor’s Web platform, will support the carrier’s global operations to facilitate customs clearance for millions of packages annually.
“WCS will allow every DHL location to access the latest regulatory information, and enable us to adjust quickly to changing trade conditions worldwide,” said Jeffrey Bass, DHL’s WCS program Director.
Open Harbor’s automated solution collects and updates regulatory data. The system holds more than 8 million trade rules, up from 6 million from just three months ago.
DHL is majority owned by Deutsche Post World Net.
