DHL opens regional sorting center in Erie, Pa.
DHL, a provider of express delivery and logistics services and owned by Deutsche Post World Net, has opened a regional sorting center in Erie, Pa.
The facility, in which DHL invested $3 million, has 54,946 square feet. The sorting center handles letter and parcel items as well as palletized and container freight.
In the last three weeks, DHL has also opened similar centers in Denver; Salt Lake City; Memphis, Tenn.; and Baton Rouge, La., 'as part of a $1.2 billion investment program to build a more robust network' in the U.S., said Fred Beljaars, executive vice president for operations.
