Diana Shipping sees earnings rise
Athens-based Diana Shipping Inc. global shipping company specializing in dry bulk cargoes, today reported net income of $21.4 million for the first quarter of 2007, compared to $11.7 million reported for the same period of 2006.
The company, whose shares are listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol DSX, said voyage and time charter revenues were $38.5 million for the first quarter of 2007, compared to $24.2 million for the same period of 2006. The increases were the result of growth in company's fleet, from 12 to 15, and improved charter rates.
