DITKOWSKY TO HEAD NCBFAA AD HOC AIRLINE IMPORT COMMITTEE
Joel Ditkowsky, vice president of Far Rockaway, N.Y.-based Freight Brokers International, has been selected to head the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America’s new Ad Hoc Airline Import Committee.
The idea for the new committee occurred during the NCBFAA’s annual meeting last March. The committee will focus on issues involving the Customs’ Air Automated Manifest System and other airline-related service problems, such as ground handling, security and storage rates.
“We want to improve air cargo business by working together with Customs and the airlines,” Ditkowsky said. “It’s the only way to get that done.”
Ditkowsky expects about eight customs broker executives to participate in the committee from airports such as JFK, Miami, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, Boston and Dallas. Meetings are expected to be held by teleconference on a bimonthly basis.
