Donjon Marine, Metal Management form terminal venture

   Donjon Marine Co. Inc., a provider of marine towing, dredging and emergency response services, has entered into a joint venture purchase with Metal Management LLC to form Port Albany Ventures LLC.

   The joint venture will operate a 27-acre terminal on the Hudson River in Albany, N.Y., which handles bulk cargoes such as salt, scrap iron, gypsum and mill scale. The acquisition includes a fleet of 17 tugs and barges.

   'We have worked with Metal Management for a number of years, and look forward to combining our individual expertise ' as partners in terminal activities,' said Arnold Witte, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Donjon Marine Co., based in Hillside, N.J.
