DONNELLEY LOGISTICS ACQUIRES CTC DISTRIBUTION DIRECT
R.R. Donnelley Logistics Services, a business unit of Chicago-based R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co., said it has acquired Minneapolis-based CTC Distribution Direct, the mailer of business-to-home parcels.
The acquisition doubles the size of Donnelley Logistics, which distributes catalogs, magazines, books and direct mail. The combined companies represent $800 million in revenue. The companies delivered more than 130 million packages and 15 billion magazines, catalogs and other print pieces totaling 4 billion pounds in 1999.
CTC Distribution operates 18 facilities throughout the U.S., serving more than 300 clients, including America Online, Chadwick's of Boston, Home Shopping Network, J.C. Whitney and Miles Kimball.
The acquisition is expected to close in a month. Under the agreement, John Clark, founder and chief executive officer of CTC and the company's management team will join the new organization.
