Ebeling, Magee to receive AOTOS award
United Seamen's Service, a non-profit agency that operates centers for seafarers in nine foreign ports, will present its 2004 Admiral of the Ocean Sea (AOTOS) Award to Raymond P. Ebeling and Robert P. Magee at an industry dinner in New York Nov. 5.
Ebeling has been chairman and president of American Roll-on Roll-off Carriers (ARC), a U.S.-flag liner service ocean carrier, since 1990. His company operates vessels between the United States and Northern Europe, the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. Ebeling is also chairman of American Auto Logistics (AAL), a logistics management firm that handles the movement of military vehicles for the U.S. Department of Defense. In addition, Ebeling is president of Wallenius Lines Holding Inc., which manages the U.S. interests of Wallenius Lines of Stockholm, Sweden, which owns a ro/ro shipping fleet.
Magee is chairman and chief executive officer of The American Shipping Group, a holding company that comprises the bluewater domestic and military support shipping businesses of Saltchuk Resources. Those businesses include Totem Ocean Trailer Express (TOE), serving the U.S. mainland and Alaska trade; Sea Star Line LLC, which operates between Florida and Puerto Rico as a partnership with Matson Navigation and Taino Star Investments, and Interocean Ugland Management, a technical vessel management and ship crewing company that manages and operates 22 vessels in the U.S. Maritime Administration's Ready Reserve Fleet.
