ECONOCARIBE STARTS U.S. SOUTHEAST/BARCELONA LCL SERVICE
Econocaribe Consolidators has started weekly direct less-than-containerload service from the U.S. Southeast to Barcelona, Spain.
The Miami-based neutral non-vessel-operating common carrier’s LCL shipments are loaded on vessels in Charleston, S.C. every Friday. It’s a 13-day transit between Charleston and Barcelona.
Econocaribe receives freight in Miami and Atlanta. The cargo is trucked to Charleston for loading. Brad Broder, vice president of Econocaribe, said the company is increasing its service to Spain, the Mediterranean and the Middle East at the request of customers in Latin America.
Econocaribe works with Spanish agent, Uniexco, and will use Barcelona to distribute daily to major cities in Spain, in addition to deliveries throughout the Mediterranean and the Middle East.
The NVO also receives regular import consolidations from Barcelona to Miami, Charleston and Puerto Rico.
