EGL REPORTS NET REVENUE INCREASE
EGL Inc., a logistics provider based in Houston, which operates under the name EGL Eagle Global Logistics, said Tuesday that it earned $938,000 of net income for the three months ending June 30, compared to a loss of $23.2 million in the second quarter of 2001.
Gross revenues declined two percent from $409 million in 2001 to $402 million in the second quarter, “reflecting weak activity levels in the high technology, telecommunications and automotive sectors,” EGL said in a statement.
Net revenues increased 12 percent from the second quarter of 2001.
Net revenue margins “remained firm despite pricing and capacity pressure out of Asia,” the company said.
