ELVIS UNDERGOES CHANGE FOR PAKISTANI TEXTILE IMPORTS

The U.S. Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agreements has consolidated certain existing provisions and establishes new provisions in the Electronic Visa Information System (ELVIS) for certain textile imports from Pakistan.

On March 13, the U.S. and Pakistani governments signed an agreement amending the visa requirements for certain cotton, man-made fiber, silk blend and other vegetable fiber textiles.

The ELVIS agreement with Pakistan, effective April 11, requires the implementation of a six-month test phase during which these shipments must continue to be accompanied by a paper visa.
