EMERY WORLDWIDE EXPANDS FREIGHT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM TO GERMANY
Emery Worldwide, the heavyweight cargo transportation subsidiary of CNF Inc., has implemented a new integrated version of its freight management and tracking system, EMCON 2000, at its service centers in Germany.
The implementation is part of a worldwide effort by Emery, which will continue with Emery's Brussels service center in July, and locations in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Japan, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand to follow throughout the rest of 2001.
EMCON 2000 allows customers to monitor shipment progress from pick-up point to destination, including intermediate points. The system also streamlines pricing and rating processes, enabling companies to resolve pricing questions and eliminate rating and invoicing errors.
Emery, based in Redwood City, Calif., operates in 226 countries through a network of more than 500 service centers and agent locations.
