EMERY WORLDWIDE OPENS POLISH OPERATION
Emery Worldwide has opened its first wholly owned operation in Poland, as the transportation and logistics company seeks to expand its services for businesses operating in Central Europe.
Piotr Zborowski has been named to head up the Polish operation. Zborowski, who has several years experience in transportation and freight forwarding, will report to Michael Dueppre, Emery's Frankfurt-based division manager – Europe Central.
Emery will serve Poland from Okecie Airport, Gdansk, Katowice and Pabianice.
Peter Quantrill, Emery's vice president-international pointed out that in 1999, the Polish market saw increases in exports and imports of 11.5 percent and 10 percent respectively.
Within Central Europe, Emery already has operations in Budapest, Hungary; Prague, Czech Republic; and Vienna, Graz and Linz, Austria.
Emery's headquarters for Europe, the Mideast and Africa are based in London.
