EMIRATES OPENS NEW CARGO CENTER IN DUBAI
Emirates SkyCargo, based in Dubai, has opened a dedicated cargo center in the Dubai Air Cargo Village. The facility, which has a capacity of 400,000 tons per year, is the new hub of the airline’s 55 outlying feeder stations.
According to Ram Menen, Emirates’s director of cargo, automation at the cargo center has created “an almost paperless environment.”
Dubai’s “open skies” policy means that the airport has to handle high numbers of arrivals and departures on a 24-hour basis.
