Emirates SkyCargo, Korean Air sign India/Dubai codeshare agreement
Emirates SkyCargo has signed an agreement to codeshare cargo capacity on two of Korean Air Cargo’s routes from India to Dubai.
Under terms of the agreement, Emirates SkyCargo now has 20 tons of capacity to Dubai on Korean Air Cargo’s weekly flights from Delhi (every Friday) and Mumbai (Wednesday’s). The flights are operated by Boeing 747-400 freighter aircraft.
“In the last financial year, India contributed more than 7 percent to Emirates SkyCargo’s overall revenue and had a growth rate of over 40 percent,” said Peter Sedgley, Emirates’ vice president, cargo commercial operations.
“From Delhi, Emirates SkyCargo transports large shipments of garments, knitwear, hosiery, handicrafts and leather, while from Mumbai it carries courier traffic, garments, perishables, pharmaceuticals, valuables and print publications to Dubai,” Sedgley added.
Emirates SkyCargo offers 43 non-stop weekly belly-hold services between Dubai and India, as well as three weekly dedicated freighter flights, with approximately 1,000 tons of cargo capacity.
