Envirotainer adds to air container fleet

   Envirotainer is investing about $3.8 million to increase the size of its specialized air container fleet to meet growing international demand from the health care industry for containers with electrical heating and cooling technology.

   The company said it increase the size of its specialized RKN e1 fleet to 100 units. The containers are designed to satisfy the extreme requirements of the health care industry with regards to product integrity and the regulatory requirements of customers. It is the result of a three-year product research, development and testing program.

   Health care customers' products require that the unit should operate for a minimum of 30 hours in extreme temperatures from -10 to +30 'C without recharging.

   By the end of October, Envirotainer will have added an extra 70 RKN e1 containers to its fleet. In total, Envirotainer operates a fleet of more than 3,500 active temperature-controlled air transportation containers to meet the requirements of its healthcare customers.
