Etihad joins Asia-Pacific air freight portal
Etihad Crystal Cargo, the cargo unit of United Arab Emirates-based Etihad Airways, has joined Cargo Community Network’s Internet platform for the air freight industry in the Asia-Pacific region, CCNHub.
CCN is headquartered in Singapore and has operations in Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam. It handled almost two million e-bookings last year.
CCN will exchange electronic messages with Etihad Crystal Cargo including e-booking, consolidated manifest data and status updates. It will facilitate the information exchange with freight forwarders across Bangkok, Colombo, Jakarta, Mumbai and New Delhi.
“Etihad’s decision to enhance its services by linking its computer system CRYSTAL to CCNHub is another milestone in the airline’s strategy to bring total information transparency along the supply chain. Logistics companies in India and Asia are now enabled to interact directly and paperless with Etihad Crystal Cargo,” said Ingo Roessler, Etihad Airways’ vice president, cargo.
