EUROPE/INDIA/PAKISTAN CARRIERS REDUCE RISK CHARGES

   The India Pakistan Bangladesh Ceylon Conference, a group of ocean carriers in the Europe/Indian Subcontinent trade, have reduced additional premia initially advised for vessels serving Pakistan, effective Tuesday.

   IPBCC Lines will apply a reduced extra risk insurance surcharge for Pakistan or $149 per TEU, which includes $10 to cover extra insurance costs for transiting the Suez canal. The charge applies to all cargo and is subject to change at short notice.

   The will also be an extra risk insurance surcharge of $13 per weight/measure to be applied to less-than-containerload cargo, which includes the Suez transit.

   The extra risk insurance surcharges applicable for India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka remain unchanged.

   The IPBCC carriers are Andrew Weir Shipping (Ellerman), Bangladesh Shipping Corp., Ceylon Shipping Corp., CMA CGM, Contship Containerlines, Hapag-Lloyd, Himalaya Express, Maersk Sealand, Pakistan National Shipping Corp., P&O Nedlloyd, Rickmers Linie, Safmarine, Shipping Corporation of India, United Arab Shipping Co., Yangming Line and Zim Israel Navigation Co.
