EUROPE/SOUTH AMERICA CARRIERS INTRODUCE CURRENCY SURCHARGE
Shipping lines of the Europe East Coast South America conference are introducing a currency adjustment factors in the southbound trade.
The currency surcharge will be set at 10 percent and is the result of the devaluation of the euro, the conference said. Freight rates from Europe to the East Coast of South America are calculated in euro.
Carriers will start implementing the currency surcharge in July, the conference said.
