EVANS WINS SENATE APPROVAL TO BECOME COMMERCE SECRETARY
Donald L. Evans, a Midland, Texas businessman, has won Senate approval to become U.S. Secretary of Commerce in the Bush Administration.
Evans, who has held no major elective offices, has worked for more than 25 years with a Midland-based energy firm, Tom Brown, Inc. He served as chief executive officer and chairman of the company for the past 15 years.
