EVERGREEN AND WAN HAI JOIN ON JAPAN/CHINA/SOUTHEAST ASIA ROUTE

   Taiwanese carriers Evergreen Marine Corp. and Wan Hai Lines will share space between their services on the route linking Japan, China and Southeast Asia, effective from the beginning of April.

   On April 2, Evergreen will launch a weekly Japan/China/Straits service, with four 1,810-TEU ships. The rotation of the service is Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Tianjin,    Qingdao, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tanjung Pelepas, Singapore, Port Kelang, Johor, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

   Meanwhile, Wan Hai, a major intra-Asian container carrier, operates five 1,100-TEU vessels on a parallel route. Wan Hai’s ships have a rotation of Tokyo,    Yokohama, Osaka, Tianjin, Qingdao, Shanghai, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Shekou, Manila, Surabaya, Jakarta, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

   In early March, Evergreen and Wan Hai also started a joint service covering Taiwan, the Philippines and Vietnam.
