EVERGREEN, LLOYD TRIESTINO AND CMA CGM SWAP ASIA-MED SLOTS
Evergreen, its affiliate Lloyd Triestino and CMA CGM will exchange space between their respective Asia/Mediterranean container services, effective March 1.
The cooperative agreement consists of an exchange of 300 slots a week in each direction between CMA CGM’s Mediterranean Express (MEX) service and the Far East Mediterranean (FEM) service of Evergreen and Lloyd Triestino.
With the addition of the new slot-exchange service, Lloyd Triestino will now offer four Asia/Europe services a week.
For Evergreen and CMA CGM, which already exchange Asia/north Europe slots, the addition of another Asia/Mediterranean service via a slot exchange will allow both to offer seven services a week between the Far East and Europe.
The MEX service has a rotation of Pusan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Chiwan, Port Kelang, Damietta, Malta, Barcelona, Fos, Genoa, Malta, Damietta, Port Kelang, Hong Kong and Pusan.
The FEM ships call at Ningbo, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Tanjung Pelepas, Colombo, Taranto, Genoa, Fos, Barcelona, Valencia, Taranto, Jeddah, Colombo, Port Kelang, Tanjung Pelepas, Hong
Kong, Kaohsiung, Ishigaki island and Ningbo.
CMA CGM, Evergreen and Lloyd Triestino do not belong to a global alliance, but they are individually participating in an increasing number of joint services and slot exchange agreements with other carriers.
CMA CGM and Lloyd Triestino already exchange slots in the transpacific.
