EVERGREEN, LLOYD TRIESTINO, HATSU WIDEN COOPERATION
Evergreen Marine Corp., Lloyd Triestino di Navegazione and Hatsu Marine — three affiliates of the Taiwanese Evergreen group, plan to widen their cooperation in U.S. container trades.
The carriers have notified the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission that they want to expand the geographic scope of their “Evergreen/Lloyd Triestino/Hatsu Marine Alliance Agreement” to include ports in Central America and the Caribbean.
The revised agreement of Evergreen, Lloyd Triestino and Hatsu also authorizes them to operate a maximum of 65 vessels.
The Evergreen group recently said it is considering ordering 30 large containerships.
