EVERGREEN SWITCHES PACIFIC SERVICES WITH NEW WORLD ALLIANCE
Evergreen Marine will continue its slot exchange agreement with the New World Alliance in the transpacific market by taking space on two different New World Alliance services. This move follows the termination of the New World Alliance PNX service, as part of the Alliance’s capacity cut-back, which Evergreen had previously used.
Evergreen will now use the New World’s PS1 service in the eastbound direction and its PNW service for westbound cargo. For the PS1 service, Evergreen will serve Nagoya; Tokyo; Seattle, Wash. and Vancouver, B.C., and will serve Portland, Ore.; Yokohama; Busan; Hong Kong and Kaohsiung on the PNW service.
In May 2001 Evergreen started taking around 300 TEUs per week each way on the PNX service as part of a slot exchange which saw the New World Alliance members take equivalent space on the transpacific legs of Evergreen’s eastbound and westbound Round-the-World services.
The New World Alliance members are APL, Hyundai Merchant Marine and MOL.
