Executive Moves: Maersk, InstaFreight

Maersk appoints longtime employee Doug Morgante as VP of North American government relations; Marc Papenhoff joins InstaFreight as director of business development.

Maersk said it has appointed Doug Morgante to be vice president of North American government relations.
Morgante (pictured above right), who first joined Maersk in 1994, is responsible for representing A.P. Moller Maersk’s interests before legislators and staff, as well as government agency officials at the federal,  state and local level.
Those businesses include the company’s international and U.S.-flag vessels, the port operations of APM Terminals, and Maersk’s landside logistics services.
Maersk is headquartered in Denmark, but its Norfolk-headquartered Maersk Line, Ltd. subsidiary operates a fleet of U.S.-flag ships, including 23 in the Maritime Security Program.
Marc Papenhoff, credited with helping create DB Schenker AG’s digital marketplace Drive4Schenker, has joined digital forwarding company InstaFreight as its director of business development.
Papenhoff (pictured above left) has more than 27 years of experience in transportation and contract logistics. He worked for several 3PLs, such as Fiege and Penske Logistics, before joining Schenker in 2011. He moved to the company’s land transportation division in 2015, where he helped build up the digital marketplace for part of full loads.
