EXEL CHANGES NAME
Exel Logistics said Wednesday that it will shorten its name to Exel.
The Columbus, Ohio-based company said it changed the name to reflect a
stronger focus on global supply chain solutions.
"Our customers now look to Exel for comprehensive supply chain solutions
way beyond the traditional ‘logistics’ areas of warehousing and transportation," said
Gerry Murphy, Exel’s chief executive officer.
Exel said it is integrating its industry-focused units in Europe and the
Americas into worldwide businesses to improve service to its customers in the global
consumer, retail, home delivery, automotive, electronics and chemical industries.
Exel’s new corporate identity will be launched March 1 and phased in over the
next two years.
