EXEL INTEGRATES ITS FREIGHT MANAGEMENT WITH GF-X
Exel, a U.K.-based provider of logistics services, said Monday it would integrate Unitel 21, Exel’s freight management operating system, with Global Freight Exchange, a neutral trading platform for forwarders and airlines.
Exel has used GF-X to make bookings from China, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, Sweden, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States. The provider will extend the trading platform to all of its offices around the world.
“We hope to be able to do business with all of our preferred carriers through the exchange. Creating bookings and paperwork is not a value-added activity and certainly does not interest our customers,” said Ole Ringheim, global air freight director for Exel.
