EXEL OPENS “INNOVATIVE” LOGISTICS CENTER IN SINGAPORE

U.K-based global logistics service provider Exel has opened an “innovation center” in Singapore designed to help retailers re-engineer their supply chains.

Located at its Asia Pacific headquarters of Exel in Singapore, the center will show Exel’s advanced retail supply chain solutions, the company said.

“To achieve optimum benefits for retailers, advanced technology is crucial in    providing visibility and control throughout the supply chain. These include global track-and-trace systems, digital commerce solutions for home delivery services and fulfilment, as well as advanced in-store logistics solutions providing productivity analysis covering pre- and post-sales services, stockroom and replenishment functions,” Exel said.

Paul Graham, managing director for Exel in Asia Pacific’s supply chain solutions group, said that retailers are looking for support and guidance from organizations that are “moving beyond traditional third party logistics approaches to help them solve business issues involving global sourcing and product availability.”
