EXEL RENAMES CHINA OPERATION

Exel, a U.K.-based provider of logistics services, has changed the name of its Chinese affiliate from Golden Eagle International Forwarding Co. Ltd. to Exel-Sinotrans Freight Forwarding Co. Ltd.

Exel began operations in China in 1984, when the company was then known as MSAS. Sinotrans and MSAS formed Golden Eagle International Forwarding as a joint venture in 1996.

Exel recently announced a partnership project, the Xing Wang Logistics Center, based in Beijing’s Xing Wang Industrial Park, a joint venture with Nokia and the Beijing Economic and Technology Development Area. The new center will serve as a logistics hub for Exel to support the operations of Nokia and its suppliers.
