Expansion of TOTE Tacoma terminal is completed
The expanded terminal of Totem Ocean Trailer Express at the port of Tacoma has been inaugurated, as the U.S. mainland/Alaska carrier prepares to introduce two new ships in its service.
The port of Tacoma has restructured and expanded the carrier’s facility in the port to accommodate the two larger ships. The Pacific Northwest port has invested $12 million in terminal upgrades.
The port of Tacoma said that two TOTE vessels, the “Midnight Sun” and the “North Star,” are being phased into service this year. At 840 feet long and 118 feet wide, the new TOTE vessels are 50 feet longer and 13 feet wider than its existing ships.
