FEC sets service record with UPS
The Florida East Coast Railway has set a new service mark working with UPS, providing 700 consecutive days of 'failure free' service to UPS — longer than any transportation company serving UPS.
FEC said that over more than the 700 days, it handled 62,000 intermodal loads, allowing UPS to deliver some 95 million packages on time. The previous record for failure-free service was 698 days, ending in 2005. The accomplishment is especially significant because UPS is the railroad's largest domestic intermodal customer.
“Setting and eventually surpassing our own failure-free service record demonstrates and validates our continuous commitment to provide world-class service to our customers,' said John D. McPherson, FECR president. 'We greatly value our long-standing relationship with UPS, and we clearly share their passion for on-time delivery performance. Success at this level within our industry shows that all our employees are performing at the highest levels and we salute all those who helped us achieve this record.'
