FedEx rolls out hybrid delivery trucks
FedEx Express said it has placed into service the first two of its new low-emission, hybrid electric powered vehicles in the Sacramento, Calif. area.
FedEx last year announced plans to use hybrid vehicles with drivetrains manufactured by Eaton Corp. across its entire fleet. The vehicles combine a diesel engine with an electric motor that derives its power from energy that is regenerated after being dissipated from the brakes when stopping.
