Felixstore receives 9 rubber-tired gantry cranes
The British Port of Felixstowe has received nine rubber-tired gantry cranes from Zhenhua Port Machinery Co. in Shanghai.
The new cranes can lift one container over five and can straddle seven rows of containers. Each crane has 16 wheels and can lift up to 40 tons. They will be deployed on Trinity Terminal, one of Europe’s longest continuous quays at nearly 3 kilometers in length.
The port has invested in 41 rubber-tired gantry cranes from Zhenhua Port Machinery since 2002, raising the total number on Trinity Terminal to more than 100.
