FIRST ZIM VESSEL CALLS AT PORT OF LONG BEACH’S PIER A

The first ship from Zim Israeli Navigation Co., the 4,800-TEU Zim Shanghai, has docked at Pier A, a 170-acre terminal in the Port of Long Beach.

“Zim joins Mediterranean Shipping Company as a key customer at Pier A,” said Art Wong, a port spokesman.

Operated by Stevedoring Services of America under a 25-year lease with the port, Pier A has six ship-to-shore gantry cranes, a 3,600-foot-long berth, 50 feet of water alongside the dock, and a 20-lane truck gate.
