FMCSA ISSUES FINAL RULE FOR FAILURE TO PAY CIVIL PENALTIES
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has issued a final rule that prohibits motor carriers failing to pay civil penalties or failing to abide by payment agreements from operating in interstate commerce.
The rule also suspends the registration of a broker, freight forwarder or for-hire motor carrier that has not paid a civil penalty, or has not abided by a payment plan.
The final rule will go into effect April 16.
