FREIGHTGATE DEVELOPS FMC PUBLISHING SYSTEM
Freightgate has developed a Federal Maritime Commission publishing system in its software for the non-vessel-operating common carrier industry.
“We have succeeded in ridding the system of the standard yet tedious plain text feeds with human reviews and data entry, and proceeded to enhance it with built-in logic and processes,” said Martin Hubert, president of Freightgate, based in Huntington Beach, Calif. “By automating this, we deliver not only increases in reliability and accuracy but also a more attractive price point.”
Within the system, FMC-Trek!, booked rates, as fed to the system using XML (extensible markup language), get posted to a queue where potential conflicts are automatically detected.
“If an automatic resolution is not possible, an alert is dispatched for human intervention,” the company said. “Rates without conflict are automatically published after a pre-determined period.”
