FREIGHTQUOTE.COM REACHES FREIGHT AGREEMENT WITH EBAY
Freightquote.com, the online business-to-business freight and logistics service provider, has reached an agreement with eBay Inc. to provide customers with heavy freight services for items purchased on the eBay Web site.
Freightquote.com expects to eventually double the amount of transactions run through their site on a daily basis as a result of the agreement.
'Freightquote.com build a customized site with eBay users in mind,' said Tim Barton, chief executive officer of Lenexa, Kan.-based Freightquote.com. 'Knowing most users won't be freight experts, we have developed tools and carrier relationships to accommodate their specific requirements.'
Ebay users can set up freight shipments and can allow their buyers to get a freight cost before bidding on items. Customers enter shipping details such as ZIP codes, weight and item description to query their rate, carrier and transit time. They can schedule a pick up immediately, or come back after the listing closes to complete the transaction.
