GAC obtains NVOCC licence in China
The GAC Group, the international port agent, marine services and logistics company, has obtained a license as a Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier from China's Ministry of Communications.
GAC said that China introduced the NVOCC licence following its entry to the World Trade Organization to ensure a quality benchmark for NVOCC operators in the country.
“During the past year, GAC has rapidly extended its agency network across China,” the company said. Along with its representative office in Shanghai, the group is present in Beijing, Tianjin, Qingdao, Dalian, Nanjing, Ningbo, Wuhan, Chongqing, Xiamen, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
“GAC is now certified to handle all sea freight shipments and can offer consolidation services and full container loads to and from China,” said Claus Schensema, managing director of GAC's representative office in Shanghai.
With this NVOCC licence, the company can issue its own house bill of lading to customers.
