General Dynamics names Lawrence AMSEA president
General Dynamics has appointed Peter J. Lawrence president of American Overseas Marine (AMSEA), an operating unit of the General Dynamics Electric Boat division that manages 23 vessels for the U.S. Military Sealift Command and the Maritime Administration.
Lawrence was vice president of marine operations for AMSEA. In his new position, he reports to John P. Casey, president of General Dynamics Electric Boat. Lawrence succeeds Leland B. Bishop, who has retired after serving 44 years with the company.
Based in Falls Church, Va., General Dynamics employs 68,400 people worldwide and anticipates revenue of $19 billion in 2004.
