Georgia ports give Schaller new role
David A. Schaller, deputy executive director at the Georgia Ports Authority, has been appointed to the newly created position of chief administrative officer. Schaller joined the authority since 1995.
“His experience overseeing properties and contracts, waterway development projects and port police for the authority has been a driving force in our unprecedented growth. As CAO, David will continue his current responsibilities as well as lend his considerable expertise in the areas of purchasing, risk management and safety,” said Doug J. Marchand, Georgia Ports Authority executive director.
The authority oversees Georgia’s deepwater ports in Savannah and Brunswick, and inland barge operations in Bainbridge and Columbus.
