Global Institute of Logistics names Ackerman chairman
The Global Institute of Logistics, which sets standards for supply chain, distribution and logistics companies, has appointed Kenneth B. Ackerman as chairman, succeeding the late Robert Delaney.
Ackerman is president of The K.B. Ackerman Co. Previously, he was chief executive of Distribution Centers Inc., a public warehousing company that is now part of Exel USA.
Based in Columbus, Ohio, Ackerman is a former president of the Council of Logistics Management and a founder of the Warehousing Education and Research Council.
