GOLOGISTICS SIGNS HONEYWELL TO ONLINE LTL EXCHANGE
GoLogistics.com, the online less-than-truckload freight e-commerce marketplace, has signed an agreement with Honeywell for the exchange to handle LTL shipments of more than 3,000 pounds.
Honeywell, the $25-billion diversified technology and manufacturing giant, will use GoLogistics to purchase excess capacity on LTL carriers via the Internet. The company said it hoped to realize substantial savings by using LTL and avoiding full truckload and off-route mileage-based rates.
GoLogistics will work with Honeywell on a shipper direct basis, as well as integrating its Internet exchange with APL Logistics, Honeywell's third party logistics provider. APL Logistics handles Honeywell's performance polymers and chemical unit, which will be the first unit to implement the Internet exchange marketplace.
GoLogistics said it pre-qualifies all carriers and shippers on its exchange.
