Goltens buys Nyland Maritime in Norway

Goltens, a provider of maintenance services for engineering components used by shipping companies, has concluded an asset purchase agreement with NLI Nyland AS in Norway to take ownership of NLI's Nyland Maritime division, a provider of spare parts for two-stroke diesel engines.

Under terms of the agreement, Goltens will acquire a large stock of spare parts and eight employees who will continue to work at Nyland Maritime's offices in Arendal, in southern Norway.

NLI Nyland's production facilities are not part of the acquisition. However, NLI Nyland will continue to provide services under a separate production agreement with Goltens.

Nyland, once one of Norway's leading manufacturers of low-speed diesel engines, has provided spare parts for popular low-speed marine diesels, including more than 27,000 cylinder liners for various shipping companies.

NLI Nyland bought Nyland Maritime from Aker Kvaerner in 2004, a year in which Nyland Maritime had revenues of U.S. $6 million.
