Grand Alliance considers extra transpacific loop
Grand Alliance carriers Hapag-Lloyd, NYK, OOCL and P&O Nedlloyd are considering a plan to launch an additional transpacific service.
Details of the planned operation and its timing have not been publicized, with OOCL saying the move is still subject to feasibility studies.
However, P&O Nedlloyd said an announcement concerning transpacific service changes could be made in the next few weeks.
The Grand Alliance has operated six dedicated weekly Asia/West Coast of North America services and four weekly Asia/U.S. East Coast all-water services.
