GRAND ALLIANCE SWITCHES CHINESE PORT ON TRANSPACIFIC LINK

   Grand Alliance carriers Hapag-Lloyd, NYK, OOCL and P&O Nedlloyd are switching from Yantian to Shekou on the weekly “Far East Express” transpacific container service.

   The first call at Shekou on the “FEX” service will be made by “NYK Leo” on Dec. 17.

   The revised port rotation for the “FEX” service is Xiamen, Shekou, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Oakland, Tokyo, Nagoya, Kobe, Xiamen, Shekou and Hong Kong.

   The “FEX” service uses five ships averaging 5,892 TEUs.
