GRAND ALLIANCE TO ADD PORT CALLS TO PACIFIC/ATLANTIC SERVICE
Grand Alliance carriers Hapag-Lloyd, Nippon Yusen Kaisha, Orient Overseas Container Line and P&O Nedlloyd will add several direct ports of call to their Pacific-Atlantic Express “PAX” service in June.
Port calls at Los Angeles, Yokohama and Le Havre will be added following the introduction of faster ships in the Asia/U.S. West Coast/U.S. East Coast/northern Europe service, Hapag-Lloyd said.
The changes will create a direct service to Europe from Los Angeles. At present, the eastbound service calls at Seattle, Oakland, Savannah, Norfolk, New York and Halifax, while the westbound ports of call in North America are Halifax, New York, Savannah, Los Angeles and Oakland.
The extended rotation will also add an eastbound Pacific service from Yokohama to North America and an eastbound and westbound transatlantic service between Le Havre and North America.
The revised rotation of the PAX service will be Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Kobe, Nagoya, Yokohama, Seattle, Oakland, Los Angeles, Balboa, Cristobal/Manzanillo, Savannah, Norfolk, New York, Halifax, Antwerp, Thamesport, Bremerhaven, Rotterdam, Le Havre, Halifax, New York, Norfolk, Savannah, Cristobal/Manzanillo, Balboa, Los Angeles, Oakland, Yokohama, Kobe and Kaohsiung.
The revised transit times and days of the week of the services will be posted on the free global schedules database www.compairschedules.com shortly before the changes take effect.
