GRAYKOWSKI TO LEAVE MARAD

   Acting Maritime Administrator John Graykowski will leave government service at the end of October.

   Appointed by President Clinton as deputy maritime administrator in 1994, Graykowski has serving as Acting Maritime Administrator since May 22.

   As deputy maritime administrator, Graykowski was responsible for implementing the National Shipbuilding Initiative, with particular emphasis on MarAd’s Title XI loan guarantee program, as well as administering programs and policies related to the inland waterways and the Great Lakes.

   Graykowski said he will remain in Washington, D.C. and will become active in the maritime legal profession.
