Great Northern packaging unit develops Cool Crate

   Great Northern Corp.'s Packaging Group has developed a new all-in-one packaging system for a wide range of temperature-sensitive products.

   'Cool Crate' was unveiled by the Appleton, Wis.-based company Monday. It is a fully insulated packaging system for products including beverages, fish, meat, poultry, cheese, vegetables, desserts and other consumable items, as well as things like pharmaceuticals, biological and medical samples, enzymes, blood plasma and other laboratory samples.

   'The ability to ship a full pallet of product without the need to individually wrap each box will save time and reduce the amount of overall handling required,' said Dan Stubing, the company's custom packaging sales manager.
