GREAT WESTERN TO TAKE SLOTS ON MAERSK’S TRANSPACIFIC SHIPS
Great Western plans to charter slots from Maersk Sealand in the trade between U.S. West Coast ports and ports in Asia.
The carriers have filed a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission, asking for expedited review.
Great Western, an Asia/U.S. West Coast niche carrier based in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., has had many changes in its transpacific service in the last year. After ending a joint transpacific service with Far Eastern Shipping Co., Great Western started taking slots in the transpacific trade on the vessels of Zim Israel Navigation Co.
