GULF AIR TO TRANSFER HEATHROW CARGO DEPARTMENT
Gulf Air Cargo said it will transfer its cargo department at London Heathrow Airport to Pace Airline Management, effective Oct. 1.
Gulf said it was making the move to increase its presence in the United Kingdom market. Under the terms of the contract, Pace will also assume responsibility for all of Gulf’s business in the U.K., including the Midlands, North of England and Scotland.
Heathrow is Gulf’s largest hub outside of Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and Muscat. Currently, Gulf Air is operating 28 wide body Airbus A330 and A340 services per week from Heathrow, with up to 50 tons’ capacity available daily.
Pace Airline Management was acquired this April by European Cargo Services. ECS and its wholly-owned business represent over 100 airline customers in a network of 44 offices in 14 countries.
