HAMBURG-SUD LINES CENTRALIZE OPERATIONS IN NORTH AMERICA
Hamburg-Sud, the German shipping group, is centralizing the non-commercial activities of its subsidiaries Columbus Line, Crowley American Transport and Alianca in North America.
A new organization called HSAC Logistics now provides operational support for all three shipping lines in North America, Hamburg-Sud said. This includes dispatching empty containers for loading, delivering loaded containers to the port, logistics, operations and book-keeping.
However, Hamburg-Sud said that the three shipping lines continue to compete for customers’ orders.
The information technology system of Hamburg-Sud has been installed at Crowley American Transport and at Alianca, which were acquired in the last two years.
